Social Justice Work at Meadowbrook

Waldorf education was conceived of as a healing education in the aftermath of World War I. It was intended to help bring about social justice and renewal. As calls rose for racial justice in the summer of 2020, the MWS community added its voice to condemn discrimination, hatred and violence of any kind. MWS is dedicated to teaching children to love and respect all people, as well as beauty and truth in all its forms.

Our faculty, staff and parent association are working to understand the causes and effects of conscious and unconscious bias. We are committed to becoming a more just, diverse and equitable community.

As we continue this work, we share responsibility for each other’s well-being and we are mindful that all human beings are in a continuing process of personal development. We recognize and value our differences as opportunities for growth and celebration. Above all, we believe that every person is equally worthy of our respect and love. All are welcome here.
