More Than a School

MWS is a vibrant community of children and adults of all ages. We welcome grandparents, friends and neighbors often as we come together to celebrate, learn and volunteer.

Our school calendar marks the turn of the seasons with festivals that bring families and friends together for pageants and picnics. The grade school students prepare special presentations of their work for family gatherings and our middle school music ensembles perform concerts open to the public. The Meadowbrook Holiday Faire has been a Holiday season tradition for South County families for more than 20 years.

Adult education opportunities provide learning experiences for parents and others in our local and regional community. Our popular bi-annual ‘Educating Through the Arts’ program offers continuing education for local educators and others interested in learning more about the unique approach of Waldorf education. MWS also works with local institutes of higher learning so that interns can experience classrooms dedicated to social and developmentally appropriate education.

Our rich community life is supported by a strong tradition of volunteerism where past and present MWS parents offer their time and expertise in support of the children’s education. We are dedicated to maintaining an inclusive anti-discriminatory culture where everyone can be sure of a warm Meadowbrook welcome.

The experience of Meadowbrook is one of community. As a parent, I was supported and learned so much about how children develop and why the curriculum is so carefully planned. The friendships made between the students and parents have lasted many many years as well. The investment that I made in their childhood education was worth it a million times over!
