Employee Culture

The culture of Meadowbrook Waldorf School reflects the varied nature of its campus with young and old growth trees, a well-tended community garden, and a thoughtfully designed structure at its heart.

The Faculty, Administration and the Meadowbrook Parent Association (MPA) work together with the Board of Trustees in the spirit of Steiner’s Threefold Social Order. The governance model allows all voices to speak from their own careful observation. This sharing of ideas assures that decision-making is a dynamic process centered on the experience of the children.

As we work collaboratively in service to the mission of the school, we seek a variety of perspectives that represent the breadth and diversity of humanity. We honor all human beings as being equally worthy of our respect and love. We care for each others’ well-being and value our differences as opportunities for growth.

Many employees come to the school first as parents of young children. They may begin as volunteers or in part-time positions before linking their own destiny to that of the school as salaried employees. MWS colleagues are engaged in life-long learning. Personal as well as professional development activities are woven into the life of the school. A strong peer mentoring program supports teachers and staff as they use their initiative to develop their capacities and unfold their life’s purpose.
