Our Students Waldorf students love coming to school. They enjoy being with each other and are fully engaged by the intense but varied day. Both in curriculum and in the families of the school, the students are immersed in many cultures, world views and philosophies. We strive to include the breadth of humanity in gender, ethnic origin, economic resources, cultural and religious beliefs and diversity of learning styles. At various times, our students have included Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, African, South and Central Americans as well as most European nations and Native American children. Protestants, Catholics, Judaic, and Buddhists have been welcomed and comfortable in our classes. The school is strongly committed to economic diversity embodied by policies of restrained tuitions and vigorous financial aid. Likewise, the school welcomes students who plan diverse futures for themselves. Our graduates go on to a variety of high schools. Many attend their local public high school. Some attend Waldorf High Schools out of state. Many attend parochial or independent schools. In RI, graduates have attended Prout, Bishop Hendrikson, Portsmouth Abbey, St. Andrews, Wheeler, Moses Brown, School One, and the Met School. Some students attend specialty high school such as the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts. |
