Early Childhood

Many parents visiting the Early Childhood (EC) classroom say “I wish I had gone to a school like this.” The room, warm and colorful, is filled with nature’s peaceful beauty where children feel reassured and protected.

Free, imaginative play is the heart of the EC program, developing the capacities for creative thinking, problem-solving abilities and social skills. Simple, natural materials encourage children to form their own stories and games. Balancing free play with structured activities, the children engage in movement, water color painting, handwork and seasonal crafts. Hearing stories told aloud and watching puppet plays cultivate the imagination and strengthen the ability to listen and concentrate. Songs and nursery rhymes inspire a love language and music. Baking bread, eating together, and cleaning up afterwards encourage cooperation, a sense of responsibility and lay the foundations for organizational skills and academic readiness. All these activities enrich the early childhood experience in daily, weekly and seasonal rhythms that create a bridge from home to school.
